Who would have thought that a Zelda spin off that comes with the Wii Zapper would be so good. Mind you it is a very short game and has absolutely no story, instead it’s just a series of very fun shooting ranges smack dab in the world of the Zelda series.
I actually don’t play this game with a Wii zapper. I finished it with a Nyko Perfect Shot adapter. Basically the same thing but the Nyko gives you more of a gangster feel as you shoot things.
For what it is “Link’s Crossbow Training” is a very good game. Every level is unique and it will take some time to perfect your scores. The boss battles are awesome but there are only two bosses. I think the devs had a really cool idea and I think building new engines for the Wii takes a lot of time and energy so it makes scene that the game is short and bundled with the Zapper. I can only guess if they release a part 2 it would be much longer with more boss battles.
As it stands this is one of the better zapper games of the Wii and I think it paves the way for more great zapper action. I sort of consider this the new “Duck Hunt” for Nintendo but I really don’t understand why they haven’t made a pimped out version of the old Duck Hunt.

“The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass” is jam packed with many new game features. The interface is 100% touch screen so everything from the battles to steering your boat is all controlled with your stylus. The game also incorporates many interactive features that I really do not want to spoil for new players. Needless to
say you should expect a few surprises when it comes to how a game can be played.
The innovations are a breath of fresh air. Over the years we have seen many types of games and they have been filed neatly into genres. Well the one thing that stands out most about Zelda and many other touch screen games is that we get to experience adventure gaming with a 100% new controller interface, the touch screen. Draw a line to whip a boomerang, tap the screen to fire and arrow or draw short lines to swing your sword.
I gave the multi-player a good spin a little while ago and I cannot say that it is the most amazing multi-player game on the DS but as a bonus, side from the original single player content it is not half bad. I can only describe it as a form of three dimensional pac-man where on player is Links trying to collect shards and the other player controls “phantom guards” that try to tag whomever is playing Link.
The graphics sounds and art are all wonderful and although combat is simple it is still interesting enough to keep you on your toes. Did I mention that Link is trying to save Tetra instead of Zelda (gasp). I recommend this for almost all DS players.
Score: 9/10
